We have mentioned before and Are very aware that, although We transcend your thinking and imagination, We intentionally use symbols and images that make sense to you. Again, in order to help you grasp the deep meaning surrounding Us, I intentionally use anthropomorphic when referring to Myself. I Am still doing that with you right now, even in your spectacularly wise and highly evolved state. If I Am relating to you on human terms now, you’d better believe I was doing it in their habitat.
Read MoreDwell in the limbo of materialism and you’ll never be happy because you’ll never have everything. Friend, there’s far more to life than possessions, and having deep peace in your heart is worth far more than anything that can be advertised. Got peace? Being content with what you’ve got will get you there. It won’t cost you a thing, just… a choice. Well, a lifetime of choices. Choose where to focus your eyes. Take them off the Joneses, the air-brush anorexic models, the debt-piling fancy cars, you get the point. Focus instead on Me and all the good I’ve already given you. That’s it. That’s the secret, friend. Oh, and one more thing. We Are getting married.
Read MoreKeep your eyes off whatever good-looking neighbor has popped up at the gym, the office, down the block, or down the hall. I Am talking both sexually and materially. Pay no attention to the Jonesew or whomever it is the marketing experts are putting before you these days in an effort to seduce the money out of your pocket into theirs. Advertisers are after you, friend, and their entire industry is based on the theme of Command Ten: coveting. Wanting something you haven’t got, something you know when you’re honest with yourself you don’t need. Those folks who are churning out ads in print and video and social media and every other way they can get at you don’t care about you one tiny little bit. In fact, their goal is to make you feel so unhappy with your life that you will come to the conclusion that the only way to solve your unhappiness is by resorting to their product, which you don’t need and can’t afford. Your habitat has made a science out of making people continually feel discontent with their lives in order to drive the great machine of profit.
Read MoreOne of the main things that “holy” is is what it is not: sin. So, if you think about it, you can probably come up with why We Are going to focus so much on sin. By now you’ll recognize that holiness is the whole reason that you and I are apart: I Am holy, and you are not. The Abraplan is in place in order to get you to a place where you can be holy again in terms of sinlessness – as a race and as a you – so we can be together again. You and Me face to Face.
Read MoreIt takes a couple of months for Moses and I to get everybody to My mountain, and we are finally all here together. On the first day of the third month after leaving Egypt, Israel sets up camp at the base of Sinai where, unbeknownst to them at this point, their stay will last just 10 days short of a full year. My man Moses bounces up the mountain to say hello, and I lay on him one of the most important statements I EVER make to humans. I’d really like you to hear it, so come On The Way with Me today, won’t you?
Read MoreTake a quick look at Pharaoh. Sure, he worships a plethora of idols just like the rest of his culture, but he has an extra feature many of you struggle with as well. If he’s nothing else, the king of Egypt is certainly Mr. I Can Handle This. This guy is so full and so sure of himself that he imagines himself My equal or better! Even as the stakes are raised and the consequences mount, the prideful hardness of his heart won’t let him recognize that he is wrong in his estimation of Me and of himself. You know somebody just like this guy. Now, you may not be as blatant as the bald king in his swagger, but there are moments when you think to yourself, “I’ve got this, God,” for whatever reason. You think I’ll complicate the situation with the inconvenience of ethics. You simply want to have things your way for a change. You like the feeling of control and fancy the driver’s seat. Be warned, friend. This attitude will eventually come back around and bite you in the consequences, consequences paired with your level of arrogance, just as Pharaoh’s are.
Read MoreFinally, the big climax we’ve all been waiting for as I lead the Israelites to a picturesque spot beside the sea. Meanwhile, back at the palace, the shock and haze of the final plague have lifted, and Pharaoh has awakened to the sound of silence across the land: no Hebrews making bricks, cutting stone, setting pylons, doing dishes, cooking breakfast, watching children, washing laundry, scrubbing floors, nor any of the other myriad menial (or substantial) tasks that had been their lot as Egypt’s slaves.
Read MoreThe farmer may have planted and plowed the field, but Who gave him life, strength, and health to do so? Or designed the seed to hold so much within it? Those new lambs and calves may be the result of romantic moonlit nights in the field, but Who made their reproductive systems work the way they do to yield fresh life? Your salary may be derived from a combination of skill, education, and connections, but Who made all of those possible?
Read MoreThere’s a crescendo built in to the sequence of plagues as things get more and more serious, powerful, and wider in impact as We go along; and as I’ve said previously, each plague is a direct incursion into the territory of one or more Egyptians “gods,” who - if they exist - should show up to the party and in the very least make for an interesting duel before before I whoop their sorry deific behinds...

Read MoreThen I said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh; because of My mighty hand, he will let them go. Because of My mighty hand, he will drive them out of his country.” I also said to Moses, “I Am Yahveh. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as ‘God Almighty,’ but by My name, ‘Yahveh,’ I did not make Myself fully known to them…” Therefore, say to the Israelites, “I Am Yahveh, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of wonder. I will take you as My own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I Am Yahveh your God…”
Read MoreMoses persists in trying to get out of the job I’m sending him on, asking Me to send somebody else. Which really steams Me. Still does. When I clearly set someone to do something like I Am doing here with Moses, and all they can come up with are reasons why it can’t happen, I have to play the “Who do you think you’re talking to?” card.
Read MoreTraditions are fine with Me, as long as you keep them at a traditional level: things you develop that add meaning to your family or community, from mundane matters like what kind of cranberries you serve at Thanksgiving to weightier issues like the style of music or you use in your worship of Me. Diversity in this regard is a key indicator of the vastness of My imagination and the depth of My love for you, friend, so go on and build those thoughtful traditions that speak to your heart. Just be careful…
Read MoreA bit along the lines of, “What’s the password for this level of security clearance,” Moses asks Me for a password. What he gets from Me is a revelation. You might too. Grab a cup of coffee and listen close.
Read MoreAway from the stone halls of Egypt and the great affairs of state, living instead a life bound to the cadence of nature in land and weather, no longer insulated and pampered but grappling with life day in and day out; Moses changes in the wilderness. It’s easy to feel how powerless and at the mercy of things beyond your control you are when there’s nothing but an animal skin tent between you and whatever We Are sending out of the sky, be it sun, rain, or hail. Moses is humbled over the course of forty years. The puzzle of his identity wears away to reveal simply a man - nothing more, nothing less - a man with a family, and flock, and a God.

Read MoreThe first American Thanksgiving is held in 1621 at the Plymouth Plantation, and the Native Americans at the celebration outnumber the pilgrims nearly two to one. Relatively warm and fuzzy relations had grown up in the early months after the intrepid Mayflower discharged her passengers into a colder, harsher environment than they had anticipated. Helped by the kindness of Native Americans like Samoset, Squanto, and Massassoit, the foreign English are able to avoid certain death from starvation and instead establish a thriving colony. Peace pipes are smoked all round, and everyone recognizes how much they owe to their native helpers. If you don’t see the parallel yet, you will in the first two minutes…
